Well... it seems that the one thing that was "wrong" with my laptop has been fixed. There was a problem associated with the wireless not connecting worth a snot. I did a bit of research and it seems that there was a hotfix that was installed by VoodooPC that caused a conflict with the wireless lan driver. As such... it wouldn't handle the information to connect to the access point appropriately.
