Well... it seems that the one thing that was "wrong" with my laptop has been fixed. There was a problem associated with the wireless not connecting worth a snot. I did a bit of research and it seems that there was a hotfix that was installed by VoodooPC that caused a conflict with the wireless lan driver. As such... it wouldn't handle the information to connect to the access point appropriately. Here was the information that I found on Intel's site that detials what the problem is and how to fix this.IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 2100 LAN MiniPCI Adapters - Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) Patch (Q815485) Can Cause Connection Loss.
Up next on the "fix things" to do list is how to fix the wireless zero configuration service hand-off issues. (aka: "I'm sitting here and my wireless has disconnected 15 times in the last 5 minutes! This network sucks!")
