Been too long since I've posted here. Will work to do more here in the future. After all, it doesn't take that long to post... now does it? Things have been rather stressful around work since both Vikki and I have the potential to be wacked by the recent cuts that President Bush is demanding that Congress make in his most recent budget. In the past, social services have been able to shuffle funding and keep most services alive. However, as a result of the across the board cuts that Bush has recommended to congress... it looks like this will be the first major hit to the social services of the United States since Lyndon Johnson formed the structure of Community Action Agencies.
While we would prefer to not have to uproot ourselves, we are open to the idea if it comes down to that.
Aside from that... Mia (our kitten/cat) is getting big. She is still a kick to have around and we are *so* glad that we have her!
The snow has been lessening and the temperatures have been getting warmer with daytime averages running in the mid-40s. We're, of course, getting a mix of rain and sun... but still get a flurry or two! Winter just doesn't want to go! I'm actually really looking forward to springing the clocks forward next weekend.
In the meantime, I'll be getting the taxes taken care of this weekend w/ Rick White in Marion Center, PA. Rick has been doing our taxes since fy1999 and has been an asset all along. Granted, I could probably do our taxes myself. However, the savings in time for me is worth the minor charge incurred. After all, it would be eating into my most valuable time: family time!
The Letas (plus Grandma) are anticipated for Easter dinner at our house. It should be nice.
Last weekend (3/17-19), we went to Johnstown to visit with Jimmy, Carla and Vinnie. We made stops at the Italian Oven (YUM!) and a couple of stores. I picked up OfficeSpace to add to our movie library. We had OfficeSpace on VHS, but it was time to get it on Widescreen DVD. Why widescreen? To fit our TV best, of course. :) On Friday, Pete dropped in from York, PA to visit and cook us dinner. It was a good one. Kielbasa w/ "mild cucumbers", rice and carrots. The mild cucumbers were spicy and made a good complement to the rest of it. Given my proclivity towards a low tollerance for rabbit food... that's a mighty big statement. If I had been the cook, it probably would have been substituted for Frank's Red Hot Sauce.
Well... I should go grab something to eat w/ Vikki for lunch. TTFN.
